Being compassionate means being able to
listen.
"We are called to love one another. We are
called to love our neighbours as ourselves. We’re called to love
one another as Jesus loves us. We are called to act justly, and
love mercy, and walk humbly with our God. What that means is
that we need to be attentive to suffering. We need to be
empathetic, and we need to care for the afflicted. We need to be
completely covered (clothed) with compassion, kindness,
humility, gentleness and patience. But what does this look like
in our everyday life? How do we do this?" -
Cathy Strachan.

Do we thak God when He
has demonstrated that He is with us and has helped us? Perhaps
he has been able to do something great for us. Do we praise Him?
This hymn will help us to recognise that in our lives it is
impoprtant that "To God be the glory; great things He has
done."

Christ showed compassion and brought comfort to
those around Him. When we care for others, we reflect that same
love through patience, kindness, and presence towards others.
It’s not about grand gestures; often the little things matter
most. These small moments remind people they’re not alone. We
don’t need to be perfect or have all the answers to make a
difference, we simply need to care. Small acts like a kind word,
a smile, a listening ear, or offer practical help, or just a
simple message can lift someone more than we realise and make a
real difference. Scripture reminds us, “Love one another as I
have loved you” (John 13:34, NIV) and to “carry each other’s
burdens” (Galatians 6:2, NIV). -
