Privacy Policy — Adelphicare

The short version

Adelphicare doesn't ask you to create an account, doesn't sell your data, and doesn't run advertising. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, and we link out to a small number of third-party tools (Google Forms for course assessments, JotForm for the contact form) that have their own privacy practices. That's the whole picture — the rest of this page fills in the detail.

This site operates within the framework of the Association of Australian Christadelphian Ecclesias (AACE), and that organisation's Privacy Policy applies to all aspects of the site. This page adds detail specific to how Adelphicare itself uses analytics, cookies and third-party tools.

Information we collect

We collect the following kinds of information:

Website analytics data. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use this website and to improve its resources. Google Analytics may collect information such as pages viewed, how visitors arrived at the site, time spent on pages, approximate location, browser and device information, and a pseudonymous online identifier used to distinguish visits and sessions. We use reports that are generally aggregated and do not intentionally provide Google Analytics with names, email addresses, or form responses.
Information you choose to give us. If you use the Contact page, complete a Pastoral Friend Program assessment, or request a Statement of Completion, you may provide information such as your name and email address. These forms are provided through Jotform or Google Forms, as applicable. We receive the information you submit so that we can respond to your request or administer the Program.
Weekly email subscriptions. If you subscribe to our weekly email, Carer's Corner Weekly, we collect your email address (and any other details you choose to provide) in order to send it to you. This is stored with Kit, who we use to manage and send the newsletter. Kit doesn't sell your email, share it with advertisers, or use it for their own marketing — they only process it on our behalf, under a data processing agreement that requires them to keep it secure and confidential. If you unsubscribe or ask Adelphicare to delete your email, Kit deletes the address.

Google may process Analytics information outside Australia. For more information about how Google handles personal information, see the Google Privacy Policy.

We do not collect payment information and do not require visitors to create an account to use this website.

Cookies and local storage

Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, including cookies that help distinguish visits and sessions. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. The site will continue to work, although Analytics information may be less complete.

We also use your browser’s local storage. This is separate from cookies and remains on your device. It stores your selected text size, whether you have dismissed the welcome message and privacy notice, and—if you use the Pastoral Friend Program—your reading-progress selections. This information is not sent to us.

Your choices

You can browse almost all of Adelphicare without submitting any personal information at all.
You can block cookies and analytics scripts using your browser's settings, a privacy extension, or an ad blocker — the site will still function normally.
If you've submitted information through the Contact page or a course assessment and would like it removed, get in touch with us and we'll help.
If you're subscribed to our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or use the Contact us form if you'd like Adelphicare to delete your email address for you.

Changes to this policy

If how we handle data changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. We'd encourage checking back occasionally if this matters to you.
